Aldon is a linebacker who joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2011.  Aldon is no stranger to discipline, with arrests for driving under the influence, illegal possession of an assault weapon, and possession of marijuana among his transgressions.  His most recent punishment is a 9-game suspension and $2.4 million fine for violating the NFL’s personal conduct and substance abuse policies.
Jerome Simpson, Vikings, suspended

Wide receiver, Jerome Simpson will not be playing with the Minnesota Vikings for the first three games.  He is suspended for violating NFL’s substance abuse policy.  The infraction happened last November when he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Brandon Meriweather, suspended

During a pre-season game against the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Redskins safety, Brandon Meriweather delivered an illegal hit to the head of Torrey Smith.  Usually a safety violation results in a fine, but since this was Meriweather’s sixth violation, he will be suspended for two games and pay $100,588 to the league.
Dion Jordan suspended, NFL

Miami Dolphins defensive end, Dion Jordan was trying to pump up with performance enhancing drugs.  He was caught and suspended without pay for 4 games.
