Miley Cyrus Is Joining The Voice As Coach for Season

Miley Cyrus, Instagram Miley Cyrus is headed to The Voice on Monday for the start of the Knockout Rounds and her stint as Key Adviser, but she's also making a more permanent move.
The singer/actress is joining the show as a coach for season, she confirmed on Twitter. "It's true! I am going to be the newest judge on Season 11 of The Voice @NBCTheVoice #thevoice," she wrote.
Yes, that means it's likely that Gwen Stefani will not return (considering there's traditionally just one female coach per season) and we will be deprived of another season of adorable Gwen and Blake Shelton moments, but let's not dwell on what we're losing. Let's focus on what we're gaining: an accomplished female artist who is just 23 years old, a.k.a. the prime age to guide new artists at the beginning of their careers.

Cyrus announced her Key Adviser role back in February with an Instagram shot of her posing with one of The Voice's trademark red chairs. "Lickin @xtina buttonz!" Miley wrote at the time. "@nbcthevoice #keyadviser #season10."
The role has been held in the past by Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Chris Martin. She'll join Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Stefani as The Voice's only female coaches.
Cyrus is currently in New York filming for her latest project, Woody Allen's new Amazon series, and celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Disney series that shot her to stardom, Hannah Montana. "Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary," she wrote in an Instagram post. "To the world it's a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way before the world had any clue who the f--k any of us are."
Alicia Keys was also announced as a coach for season 11, which is slated to begin filming in September.
