Teacher accused of sexual abuse may have trolled for other victims
State Police Maj. Charles Guess tells the Press-Republican of Plattsburgh that David Sweat and Richard Matt spent two or three nights at the northern New York cabin two weeks after their June 6 escape from the maximum-security Clinton Correctional Facility.
Guess says Matt wanted to stay at the cabin 30 miles west of the prison because it had alcohol, heat and water. Sweat wanted to leave before someone discovered them.
They fled June 20 with an unloaded shotgun after a man showed up to check on the cabin.
