Over the past year, we’ve seen a number of drone videos
of the new UFO-style headquarters of Apple being built. But none have
been as revealing as a new video posted on Monday that shows the
advanced stages of the facility’s construction.
Captured by Bay Area drone videographer Duncan Sinfield,
the clip offers our first look at the interiors of the spaceship-like
headquarters. We also get to see a few component parts of Apple's
underground auditorium, which has circular roof and, in its current
state, really does look like something from another planet.
The massive solar panel array is also shown, one that will serve as a backup power solution for the campus.
Sure, this kind
of constant scrutiny doesn’t generally accompany the cobbling together
of most corporate headquarters. But like most things Apple, because of
the extreme attention paid to the design of the project, it’s a treat to
watch as the futuristic structure, envisioned, in part, by Apple
co-founder Steve Jobs, finally becomes a reality.
Apple expects to complete the construction of its new headquarters in early 2017.
